Geoengineering Strategies all involve intentional manipulation of the earth climate.

In 1923 the U.S Air Force Used Chemical Smoke Screens to Protect Bombers

“I would like like to take you into the laboratory and show you a few experiments that led us to our outdoor experiments of converting clouds into snow using our home freezing unit, such as this, we can form super cool clouds just like those in the natural atmosphere, by taking a tiny piece of dry ice, such as this, and scratching it so a few tiny fragments fall into the super cool cloud, long streaks develop, the particles grow very fast, they grow about a billion fold in volume in about a few seconds. Many millions of snow crystals form, and we get the same effect as is produced by dry ice, dry ice is not particularly important as far as the fact that it is Co2, Its primarily important because its colder than Minus 35 degrees, this is a picture of the first cloud that we seeded back last November, Flying in a small fragile plane, and putting dry ice from a small dispenser in the bottom of the plane and within minutes we saw a long stream of snow falling from the base of the cloud and evaporating into the dryer air below under many conditions in part, full-fledged Snow storms will be produced in this way. Project Cirrus

“The energy expended by a tropical hurricane is enough to drive all the machinery in the world for three or four years. Yet the Army, the Navy and General Electric Company are collaborating in a daring meteorological experiment which is to determine whether or not the colossal vortex that we call a hurricane can be broken by making it precipitate the thousands of tons of water that it contains.” – The Daily News, Virgin Islands, September 17, 1947.

The cyclone was historically significant in that it was the first tropical cyclone to be modified as part of a multi-year operation called Project Cirrus. In July 1946, General Electric (GE) scientists concluded after experimentation that dry ice seeding could induce heavy rainfall and thus ultimately weaken storms by cooling temperatures in the eye. To undertake Project Cirrus, GE, the United States Army, the Office of Naval Research, and the U.S. Weather Bureau functioned jointly on research and planning. Early on October 13, 1947, 200 pounds (3,200 oz) of dry ice were dropped throughout the storm, then located about 350 mi (560 km) east of Jacksonville, Florida. While the appearance of the clouds changed, the initial results of the seeding were inconclusive. Shortly after the seeding took place, the hurricane turned sharply toward the Southeastern United States. While the move the leading GE scientist later blamed upon the seeding, subsequent examination of the environment surrounding the storm determined that a large upper-level ridge was, in fact, responsible for the abrupt turn, back towards the united states. more than 1500 people were left homeless and at least 2 people died.

Project Cumulus 1949-1955

on the night of the 15 of August 1952, the worst flood in British history swept through the tiny seaside village of linberth 90 million tons of water devastated the area killing 35 people and leaving over 400 homeless. 40000 tons of boulders were dragged off the moors destroying houses and cars. also referred to as operation witch doctor, Newly declassified documents prove was going on the day of the flood

Project Sky-fire 1953- 1967

was A us forestry research operation concerned with the study of lightning and all of its manifestations

“Project Sky-fire is aimed at lightning fires in western Florida, in detail, the manner in which your work involves you in the dispersion of clouds which happen to have some effect, or rather bring about thunderstorms, or what have you could you tell our audience a little something about that type of work”

“we’re conducting experiments in cloud seeding, aimed at determining whether or not lightning mitigation Technics might possibly prevent lightning fires we carry this work on by seeding clouds with silver-iodide nuclei, we disperse silver-iodide from specially developed generators located either on the ground or on aircraft our experience is that we can do the best job through aircraft seeding ”

Project Sky-water

“Again man looks to his own efforts to increase the flow of water, since the 1946 experiments of doctor Vincent Shaffer we have known that some clouds can be modified through seeding, to yield additional precipitation, in 1961 Congress directed the Bureau of Reclamation to begin a long-range study of cloud seeding with the aim of eventually augmenting the nations supply o water, the program called project Sky water continues at many sites throughout the United States , eventually if the research program proves to be successful the methods learned will be part of our nations integrated water resources program.”

Operation Ranch-hand 1962-1971

In 1962 during the Vietnam war American forces responded with operation ranch-hand, over the next nine years, spraying an area about the size of Massachusetts with defoliants the most notorious being Agent Orange. Vietnam was left, Barren
